Ingredients For classic eggnog

  • 4
    eggs
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 qt
    whole milk and heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    ground nut meg
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract or rum extract optional

How To Make classic eggnog

  • 1
    Crack eggs into a blender and whiz them until frothy and light yellow. (No mixer? A mixing bowl and a wire whisk also work fine.) Add the sugar and mix until dissolved. Add milk and nutmeg, and your extract or liquor if using, and blend. Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 4 days (give it a good shake before pouring).
