So yummy!! My family loves this recipe, especially on a cold day.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

The spices and apples in this spiced cider will make your entire house smell of the holidays. The clove and cinnamon, mixed with the warm cider, is the perfect combination on a cool, crisp day. We added the optional spiced rum and sugar. It was delicious! There is a very small amount of alcohol for the quantity it makes, but will be just as tasty if you opt to leave it out. The citrus flavor the sliced orange adds is the perfect touch.

How To Make holiday spiced cider

  • Cider poured into a saucepan.
    1
Pour cider into a stove top pot. Turn stove on to medium.
  • Adding apples, oranges, and spices.
    2
Add sliced apple and oranges, cinnamon sticks, clove and optional ingredients.
  • Ingredients simmering on the stove.
    3
Simmer for 10 minutes to get flavors to start releasing and blending.
  • Mixture in the saucepan on the stove.
    4
Turn down and keep warm. This will keep on your stove for 2-3 hours if not kept on high of heat.
  • Adding rum to the apple cider mixture.

When adding the spiced rum, I only add enough to flavor the batch just a little. You can add more to your individual cups if you want.
