Not for the faint=hearted. After 3 drinks, even though your legs may be wobbly, you believe you can have a meaningful conversation on anything from the latest movie to quantum physics (just kidding). Drink this one at home or take a designated driver along with you.

Ingredients For caipirinhas brasil (sallye)

  • 3 lg
    limes
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp
    granulated sugar
  • 1 c
    cachaça or vodka
  • crushed ice

How To Make caipirinhas brasil (sallye)

  • 1
Cut limes in half cross-wise Squeeze out juice from the lime halves and set aside. Leave a little juice in lime halves so they are not completely dry. Cut the limes with skin on into 1-1/2 inch cubes
  • 2
With a large mortar and pestle, crush the lime cubes with the sugar until you have a thick sweet syrup. Note: If you don't have a mortar and pestle, you can use a heavy bowl and a wooden spoon (it just takes a little more work)
  • 3
Fill four short glasses with ice Pour the syrupy mixture over the ice. Add the cachaça or vodka and stir Divide the reserved lime juice between the 4 glasses Stir just to blend
  • 4
    Serve with a smile ☺
