Ingredients For tiki style mai tai

  • ice cubes
  • 1 oz
    dark rum
  • 1 oz
    light rum
  • 1 splash
    grenadine syrup
  • 1/2 oz
    orgeat (almond flavor syrup - i use the torani syrup for flavoring coffee)
  • 2 oz
    prepared orange juice
  • 2 oz
    pineapple juice
  • 1/2 oz
    triple sec (or other orange flavored liqueur)
  • 1
    pineapple wedge (for garnish)
  • 1
    maraschino cherry (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup
    crushed ice

How To Make tiki style mai tai

    Place ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Add dark rum, light rum, almond syrup, grenadine, orange juice and pineapple juice. Shake vigorously until well blended.

    Place crushed ice in a hurricane glass. Strain the cocktail into the hurricane glass.

    Float the triple sec on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon. Garnish with a cocktail skewer threaded with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry, and serve immediately with a straw.
