I have GOBS of mint and totally love watermelon and fresh dark cherries in season. Needed to find a way to use up some of my fresh ingredients. This makes my mouth water just writing about it!!

Ingredients For refreshing summer cocktail with or without liquor!

  • fresh watermelon
  • fresh pitted cherries
  • fresh squeezed lime
  • fresh sprig of mint
  • vodka or tequila
  • sugar rim

How To Make refreshing summer cocktail with or without liquor!

  • 1
Get a blender and pop in chunks of fresh (cold) watermelon, pitted cherries (I pitted them myself). Ice cubes.
  • 2
Fresh squeezed lime juice, however much you want.
  • 3
For non-alcoholic, simply blend and add a fresh sprig of mint on top.
  • 4
To add alcohol: I found that vodka was more to my taste, but I tried my own jalapeno-infused tequila the first time. About a shot and a half should do it! Good liquor is a must.
  • 5
Take your used lime and rim your chilled martini glass, dip in sugar and pour your blend into it and top with your mint! Voila!
  • 6
Optional variation that's nonalcoholic: Pellegrino, splash of cranberry and all of the other ingredients, blended (without the liquor). Very pretty to look at, too!
