margaritas from scratch

This is a well balanced drink; not too sweet and not too tart. And so simple to make! I stopped buying mixers since I keep lime juice in the fridge anyway! This recipe is for one drink, but it is so easy to multiply. Equal amounts of tequila, lime juice and simple syrup, plus 2/3 of the same amount of triple sec. You can add as much ice as you like. I like mine cold, but not frozen or on the rocks, so I blend the ice.

1 1/2 ozjose cuervo gold tequila

1 oztriple sec

1 1/2 ozlime juice (fresh or bottled)

1 1/2 ozsimple syrup

crushed ice

lime slices
-
salt for rim of glass
How To Make margaritas from scratch

1rub rim of glass with lime slice

2dip rim of glass in salt (or sprinkle it on)

3Mix first 4 ingredients in blender

4add a handful of ice

5blend til smooth

6you may add more ice for a frozen drink if desired

7pour into prepared glass
