Ingredients For hot mulled cider

  • 1
    lemon peel
  • 1 tsp
    whole allspice
  • 36
    whole cloves
  • 1
    3-inch stick cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 2 qt
    fresh or bottled apple cider
  • nutmeg

How To Make hot mulled cider

  • 1
    Tie lemon peel, allspice, cloves and cinnamon in a small piece of cheesecloth. Combine salt, sugar and cider in saucepan over low heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add spice bag and bring mixture to a boil, then lower heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove spice bag. Serve hot in mugs, topped with light sprinkle of nutmeg. Makes 2 quarts.
