Ingredients For homemade tia maria

4 tspinstant coffee (substitute instant espresso)

1/2 cboiling water

2 1/2 cgranulated sugar, or to taste

1 1/2 ccold distilled water

2 tsppure vanilla extract

750 ml(26 oz.) 94% alcohol
How To Make homemade tia maria

1In a measuring cup, add instant coffee and boiling water; stir until granules are dissolved and set aside.

2In a saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and cold water; stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and let it sit for 15 minutes or until it gets to room temperature.

3Add vanilla, coffee and alcohol to sugar mixture; stir very well and transfer to a liqueur decanter. Let it rest for 3 to 4 weeks before serving. Yields 6 cups
