Ingredients For homemade limoncello

  • 10
    lemons
  • 3 3/4 c
    vodka (cheaper is best!)
  • 5 c
simple syrup (equal parts of water & sugar boiled together)

How To Make homemade limoncello

  • 1
Wash lemons thoroughly & peel into long strips, being careful to avoid the white pith on the underside of the peel.
  • 2
Put lemon peel in a 2 qt airtight container & pour vodka overtop; steep unrefrigerated at least 1 week & up to 2 months (longer steeping time increases the flavor's intensity).
  • 3
Shake the container occasionally. After steeping time, strain out the peels. Add simple syrup to the mixture; it will turn cloudy. Place in the freezer to let it age at least 1 week.
