Ingredients For firetong punch

  • 1 fifth dry red wine
  • 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 strip orange peel, 3 x 1/2 inch
  • 1 strip lemon peel, 2 x 1/2 inch
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar cubes
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • orange slices

How To Make firetong punch

  • 1
    Heat wine, cranberry juice cocktail, sugar, cloves, orange and lemon peel and orange and lemon juice. Don't boil.

    Pour into flameproof punch bowl. Put sugar cubes in strainer; hold over punch. Heat rum. Drizzle a little rum over cubes;

    Ignite sugar cubes.As they flame, gradually spoon remaining heated rum from a long handled ladle over cubes.When all sugar has melted into punch, add a few orange slices. Serve hot. Makes 7 cups.
