If you like to calm it down a bit, work with those three ingredients. I have been making this mix for a long time, and it is always a hit with the spicy/hot group. 22 oztomato juice, not v8, just plain old tomato juice

1 ozbrine from a bottle of olives

1/2 ozlemon juice, freshly squeezed

1/2 ozlime juice, freshly squeezed

3 Tbspprepared horseradish, or more to taste

1 tspsalt, kosher variety, fine grind

2Why 22 ounces of tomato juice? Well, that might seem a bit odd; however, to make one of these babies you will need 4.5 ounces of mix to 1.5 ounces of vodka. When you add all of the ingredients up, you will have enough mix for 6 Bloody Mary’s, with just a bit left over.

3This mix will store for a month or so in the fridge, or for a year in the freezer. Yes, you can freeze this mix.

4Horseradish Do not confuse prepared horseradish, with the creamy horseradish sauce varieties. Prepared horseradish is basically grated horseradish, stored in a jar with white vinegar and some salt. We want heat in this mix and those creamy varieties just do not deliver. FYI: My favorite brand is Bubbies.

6Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

7Mix all of the ingredients together, and place in the refrigerator overnight. This is an important step, so do not skip it.
