The Dutch know their liquors, and this cocktail is one fine example. It's a creamy cocktail featuring Dutch Advocaat, which is a thick brandy and egg yolk-based liqueur that has a custard-like taste. It's mixed with Ketel One Dutch vodka and topped off with a generous splash of cream and a light dusting of cocoa powder. It's delicious!

Ingredients For crème anglaise cocktail

  • 2 oz
    advocaat (dutch liquor)
  • 1 oz
    vodka (dutch ketel one brand recommended)
  • 1/2 oz
    single cream (or light cream with 18% fat content)
  • 1/2 cup
    ice cubes
  • 1 generous pinch
    cocoa powder

How To Make crème anglaise cocktail

    Place ice in cocktail shaker. Pour Advocaat, vodka and cream over the ice. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds or until well blended and slightly frothy.

    Strain into chilled cocktail glass (martini glass). Sprinkle a light dusting of cocoa powder on top, and serve immediately.
