The Bushwacker was first created in 1975 at a pub in St. Thomas (Virgin Islands). It tastes like a creamy, chocolate version of the classic Piña Colada. There’s quite a lot going on in the Bushwacker, with its array of different liquors that contribute a specific element to the drink. But the coconut adds a tropical colada flavor, and it works in tandem with all of the liquors to add a creamy finish to the drink. Traditionally, some pubs serve the Bushwacker with ground nutmeg sprinkled on top of the whipped cream, but I prefer it without nutmeg. But feel free to use it, if you like nutmeg.
