This is an old Mexican mix called Michelada, made with fresh lime juice instead of concentrate, and served in a tall glass. From Gourmet, August 2003.

Ingredients For beer margaritas

1lime, cut into 8 wedges

1/4 ccoarse salt

2chilled 12-oz bottles beer (not dark; preferably a lighter-style lager)

1/2 cthawed frozen limeade concentrate

1/2 cchilled tequila
-
ice cubes
How To Make beer margaritas

1Rub lime wedges around rims of 4 Margarita glasses.

2Dip rims in salt to coat lightly.

3In a medium pitcher, combine beer, limeade, and tequila.

4Fill prepared glasses with ice, then with margarita mixture.

5Garnish with remaining lime wedges.

6Serve immediately.
