Ingredients For rich coffee custard

3cups whole milk

1cup half n half cream
-
8tsp instant coffee
-
2tsp grated orange rind
-
5small eggs

1/2cup white sugar

1 1/2tsp pure vanilla extract

1tsp pure almond extract

1/2tsp fine sea salt

1/16tsp freshly ground nutmeg

deluce de leche (garnish)

toasted coconut (garnish)
How To Make rich coffee custard

1Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large pot add milk and cream. Scald the milk then add the instant coffee and orange rind. Stir well and set aside to cool for 10 minutes.

2On low speed, gently beat 4 eggs and 1 egg yolk, add the white sugar; then slowly add in the coffee mixture, vanilla, almond extracts and salt. Make sure to blend it well.

3Pour the pudding into your custard cups and sprinkle the nutmeg on top.

4Put your filled custard cups in a shallow pan that is filled with cold water. (about 3/4 inch from the top of your cups) Place the pan in the preheated oven for an hour. Remove from oven and pan, cool then chill until ready to use.

5When ready to serve, turn upside down on serving plate and garnish with a tablespoon swirl of Dulce de Leche and sprinkle toasted coconut on top. I hope you enjoy!
