This is my husband's and son favorite dessert. For my son's birthday he did not want a cake, just dirt pudding.

Dirt pudding recipes are everywhere... we loved this one because it uses real whipped cream rather than whipped topping. That, along with vanilla pudding, makes this simple dessert very rich and creamy. It adds some flavor too. This is a perfect dessert for any occasion and will disappear quickly. The hardest part is waiting for the no-bake dessert to chill!

Ingredients For oreo dirt pudding with real whipping cream

  • 8 oz
    Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1 pt
    heavy whipping cream
  • 2 sm
    boxes of Jell-o vanilla pudding
  • 3 1/2 c
    whole milk
  • 1-2 pkg
    Oreos
  • 1/2 stick
    butter (unsalted is best)
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make oreo dirt pudding with real whipping cream

  • Crushed Oreos in a bowl.

    There are 3 rows in the Oreo package. Take two rows and crush them very fine. Place in a bowl. A food processor works well.
  • Crushing more Oreos in a plastic bag.

    Take the last row of Oreos and place in a Ziploc bag. Crush the Oreos in a coarsely and set aside. A rolling pin works well.
  • Pouring melted butter over finely chopped Oreos.

    Melt the butter in the microwave. Pour melted butter over the finely crushed Oreos that are in a bowl.
  • Oreos coated in butter.

    Completely coat the mixture with the butter.
  • Finely crushed Oreos pressed into a pan.

    Press the cookie and butter mixture into a 9x13 pan to make a crust.
  • Cream cheese and milk in a mixing bowl.

    In a mixer place, the cream cheese and 2 Tbsp of the 3 1/2 cups of milk. Mix until well blended.
  • Milk and pudding added to the bowl and beaten together.

    Then add the remaining milk and 2 pudding packages. Beat until it thickens on medium speed.
  • Cream whipped until peaks form.

    In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and enough sugar to sweeten to your liking, about 1 - 2 Tbsp. Beat until peaks form.
  • Folding whipped cream into pudding mixture.

    Fold the whipping cream into the pudding.
  • Pudding mixture poured into a baking dish.

    Pour over the pressed Oreos in the dish.
  • Topped with crushed Oreos.

    Top with remaining crushed Oreos from the Ziploc.
  • Dish covered with plastic wrap to chill.

    Cover and chill until ready to serve.
