This recipe relies on the starch from rice to thicken the pudding. For those of you watching their fat intake, this is a good dessert to consider. Haven't made this in a long time so I don't have a picture to upload with this recipe.

Ingredients For old-fashioned rice pudding

3 1/2 cskim milk

1/2 cuncooked long grain rice

1/3 csugar

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 craisins
-
1 tspvanilla extract

ground cinnamon, optional
How To Make old-fashioned rice pudding

1In a saucepan, combine milk, rice, sugar and salt; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

2Pour into a greased 1-1/2 quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

3Add raisins and vanilla; cover and bake 15 minutes longer. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Serve warm or chilled. Store in the refrigerator.
