A very good, homemade pudding type lemon dessert!

Ingredients For lemon dessert, mom

  • 4
    eggs, separate out yolks
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 md
    lemons
  • 1 pkg
    lemon jello
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 4 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 pt
    whipping cream
  • pinch
    salt
  • 1 box
    ladyfinger cookies
  • 1
    container cool whip

How To Make lemon dessert, mom

  • 1
    Mix egg yolks, sugar, juice from the lemons and grated rind from one lemon and cook until thick over low heat. It will be like pudding. Moisten jello with water, add to pudding and refrigerate. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 4 T sugar and fold into pudding. Beat whipping cream with salt and fold in. Line sides and bottom of a cake pan with ladyfingers. Cover with pudding. Refrigerate until firm. Garnish with whipped cream and lemon slices.
