dee dee's banana pudding trifle

I didn't have to think twice about what to do with our ripe banana's today. If you live in the south, you know banana pudding is a staple! Well, it is at our house. I threw this semi-homemade dish together with what I had on hand and everyone was pleased with the end results! Super quick and easy! Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients For dee dee's banana pudding trifle

  • 4 to 5 c
    pound cake, cubed (homemade or store bought)
  • 2
    (3.4-oz) packages vanilla jell-o instant pudding
  • 3 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3 to 4 lg
    ripe banana's, peeled and sliced
  • 1 c
    english toffee bits (i used heath english toffee bits)
  • 1 c
    whipping cream
  • 1
    heaping tablespoon powdered sugar

How To Make dee dee's banana pudding trifle

    Slice pound cake into cubes; set aside.

    In a mixing bowl, combine pudding, milk and vanilla; whisk for about 2 minutes.

    Layer 1/2 of the cake cubes in bottom of a serving bowl, top with 1/2 of the sliced banana's. Spoon 1/2 of the pudding over banana's. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the English Toffee Bits. Repeat layers once.

    Beat whipped cream at a medium speed until foamy; gradually add powdered sugar. Continue beating until peaks form. Spread over trifle and sprinkle with remaining English Toffee Bits. NOTE: Can use cool whip in place of whipping cream if desired.

    Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
