    granulated sugar
  • 2 c
    water
  • butter, size of walnuts
  • 1 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 c
    pitted dates, cut into small pieces
  • 1 c
    walnuts, rolled out fine

    RECIPE FOR SYRUP: 2 C. LT BRN. SUGAR 1 C. WHT. SUGAR 2 C. WATER BUTTER SIZE OF WALNUTS (3-4) BRING TO BOIL UNTIL DISSOLVED GOOD, NOT TOO LONG

    BATTER: 1 C. LT.BRN. SUGAR 1 3/4 c. FLOUR 4 TSPS. BAKING POWDER 1 C .MILK PINCH OF SALT 1 C. PITTED DATES CUT INTO SMALL PIECES 1 C .WLANUTS (ROLLED OUT FINE) STIR ALL INGREDS. TOGETHER, THEN PUT YOUR SYRUP IN FLAT BAKING DISH. DROP BATTER BY THE TBLS.FULL IN THE SYRUP FAIRLY CLOSE TOGETHER.

    BAKE 350 DEGREES FOR ABOUT 30 MINS, THIS WILL MAKE A LARGE AMOUNT USE 2 MED SIZE BAKING DISHES OR 1 LG. (13x9)
