There are not enough adjectives to adequately describe this dish if you are a cranberry lover; however, marvelous, wonderful, superb, and downright delicious will suffice. This is seriously a culinary delight, so bake it and impress the people who are important in your life. I am happy to share this recipe with my JAP friends. Enjoy! Ingredients For bonnie's cranberry clafouti

  • 1
    tablespoon of unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2
    cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4
    cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2
    cups rinsed and drained fresh cranberries
  • pinch of salt
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 1
    cup chilled heavy cream (whipping cream)
  • 3/4
    cup whole milk
  • 2
    teaspoons finely grated orange peel (zest)
  • powdered sugar
  • whipped cream topping

How To Make bonnie's cranberry clafouti

    Read the recipe through. Gather your ingredients before you begin. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

    Choose a 1 1/2 quart glass baking dish. (Not metal) Butter your baking dish with a pastry brush.

    Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar over the bottom of the buttered dish. Add cranberries. Blot any excess moisture from the cranberries before scattering them in the bottom of the dish.

    Make the batter. In a large mixing bowl, whisk 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt until combined. Whisk in the eggs, butter, 1 cup whipping cream, 3/4 cup whole milk, and the orange zest. Combine well.

    Pour the batter over the drained cranberries

    Bake it in a 400 degree oven for 35 minutes. It will puff up. Bake until slightly set and browned around the edges. Cool on a wire rack 15 minutes.

    When it is set, remove to a wire rack to cool. It will sink. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Top with a dollop of whipped cream.
