3 cmilk

12 inch strip of lemon rind, remove white membrane

1 smcinnamon stick

1/2vanilla bean, split lengthwise & scraped

1/8 tspsea salt

3/4 - 1 cwhite sugar

2 Tbspflour

4jumbo, egg yolks
-
2 Tbspmilk

pinchnutmeg, fresh ground, garnish

1/4 tspcinnamon, fresh ground, garnish
How To Make comforting homemade custard

1Put a large pan on the stove and add the milk, lemon zest, cinnamon stick, vanilla pod and salt; bring to a slow simmer.

2Pour the sugar, flour, egg yolks and 2 tablespoons of milk into a bowl; stir until smooth.

3Remove the lemon, cinnamon stick and vanilla pod from the simmered milk.

4Pour the sugar mixture into the simmered milk, stirring constantly. Stir until smooth over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

5Remove the pot from heat. Pour into serving dishes and place in fridge to chill until ready to serve.

6When ready to serve, garnish with a little fresh ground nutmeg and cinnamon. Enjoy!
