Ingredients For christmas rice pudding

  • 1 3/4 c
    uncooked long grain rice
  • 2 c
    water
  • 4 c
    milk
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine
  • sliced almonds
  • ground cinnamon, optional

How To Make christmas rice pudding

  • 1
    In a saucepan combine rice and water. Simmer for 10 minutes; add milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 60-70 minutes, or until rice is tender. Add sugar, salt and butter; mix well. Spoon into dessert dishes. Garnish with almonds and cinnamon. Makes 6-8 servings.
