3/4 csugar

3 Tbspflour

dashsalt

4eggs

2 cmilk

1/2 tspvanilla

vanilla wafers (to layer)

5 or 6 mdripe bananas
How To Make ali's banana pudding

1Preheat oven to 425. Combine 1/2 c sugar with flour and salt in top of a double boiler. Mix in 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks (save egg whites for Step 3). Stir in milk. Cook, uncovered, over boiling water, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Remove from heat, add vanilla.

2FOR EACH LAYER: Spread small amount of custard on bottom of 1-1/2 quart casserole; cover with layer of vanilla wafers. Top with layer of sliced bananas. Pour about 1/3 of custard over bananas. Continue to layer wafers, banana and custard, to make three layers of each, ending with custard.

3Beat remaining 3 egg whites until stiff but not dry. Gradually add remaining 1/4 c sugar and beat until mixture forms peaks. Pile on top of pudding, covering entire surface.

4Bake in preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until delicately browned. Serve warm or chilled.
