Ingredients For upside down apple pie

    pie pastry, prepared (use the crust that is rolled in the ref. section
  • 1 c
    pecans, halved
  • 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed (for filling)
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 4 c
    sliced and peled tart apples (granny smith)

How To Make upside down apple pie

    Coat a 9-inch with cooking spray preheat oven at 425
  • 2
    In a small bowl combine brown sugar and butter, stir in pecans. arrange in the bottom of the prepared pie plate rounded sides of pecans facing down

    filling.. In large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon. Add applesand toss

    With the pecans arranged in the bottom of the pie pan. now put one of the pie crust over them. Then add filling and the other crust. Brush top crust with butter and sprinkle with sugar.

    Place pie on the cookie sheet in case of boil over. Cook for 15 minutes on 425. Turn oven down to 375 for 45 minutes. If crust is getting too brown: cover with pie shield or aluminum foil. Cool for 15 minutes the invert on a plate. Serve with ice cream or whipped topping.
