This is a pie that makes its own crust. This was my first (and so far, only) pie, so I wanted to start with something simple. *I used Granny Smith apples. **I didn't have any walnuts, so I substituted cashews instead.

How To Make swiss apple pie

1Preheat oven to 350 F.

2In a large bowl, combine egg, sugar and vanilla.

3In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into egg mixture just until moistened; fold in apples and nuts.

4Transfer to a greased 9-inch pie plate; bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

5Cool on a wire rack.
