As a child. I remember having bacon and applesauce for breakfast many days I think it was to save money however it was the best flavors I have ever tasted. This is an Old fashioned succulent pie that reminds me of sitting at the table eating with my family!

Ingredients For sunday supper pie

1 pkgpilsbury double pie crust

8 csliced peeled apples

20 slicesalt pork (1' x 1' x 1 ') cube

1 csugar

1/2 tspcinnamon

1/4 tspnutmeg

1/4 tspsalt
How To Make sunday supper pie

1roll pastry into 9' pie pan

2place apples in pan cut a 1' cube of salt pork in 5 slices and then cut each slice in 4 pieces

3combine pork and sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. sprinkle over apples

4place the second pastry crust over the apples and flute against the inside edge of pan. cut steam to vent in top

5bake in a hot pre-heated oven of 425. for 50 minutes or until apple are tender. (cover top crust with foil if it starts to brown to fast) serve warm or cold with cheese
