Growing up in Indiana everyone had their own version of sugar cream pie. My favorite is still from Mrs. Wicks. But my version is very good too! When I moved to New York I was surprised that no one knew what a sugar cream pie was!

Ingredients For sugar cream pie

2 1/2 chalf and half

1 1/2 csugar

1/3 ccorn starch

1 sticksalted butter, cut into chunks

2 tspvanilla extract

2 tspcinnamon

1/2 tspfresh grated nutmeg

1prebaked pie crust
How To Make sugar cream pie

1Preheat oven to 375°F. In a sauce pot whisk together the sugar and corn starch. Whisk in the half and half.

2Cook over medium heat whisking nonstop until it is bubbling and thickened. Remove from heat.

3Whisk in butter until melted and fully mixed in. Then stir in vanilla.

4Pour in to prebaked pie crust. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg evenly over top.

5Bake in a preheated oven of 375° for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature. Cover and place in fridge overnight. Enjoy!
