It's that time of year! This is a famous pie from Das Dutchmen Essenhaus in Middlebury, IN where I was a waitress for 4 years. One of my MOST favorite!

Ingredients For strawberry rhubarb crumb pie

1 tspvanilla extract

1/4 tspsalt

1egg
-
1 1/4 csugar

1/3 call purpose flour
-
1/3 cheavy whipping cream

1 cchopped rhubarb
-
1 csliced fresh strawberries (heaping)

1unbaked pie shell
- CRUMB TOPPING

3/4 cflour
-
3/4 coats, uncooked

1/2 cbrown sugar

1/4 cshortening
How To Make strawberry rhubarb crumb pie

1Beat together first 6 ingredients. Stir in 1 cup Rhubarb and strawberries. Pour into pie shell.

2Crumbs: mix flour oats and brown sugar together. Cut in shortening with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle all over the top of pie. Bake @ 350 degrees for 1hour and 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
