Ingredients For southern sweet potato pie

  • 2 c
    cooked mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1
    deep dish frozen pie crust

How To Make southern sweet potato pie

    Preheat oven to 350°F

    In a mixing bowl combine the sweet potatoes, sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and ginger. Mix together with a hand mixer until well combined.

    Next, add the evaporated milk and mix to combine.

    Add the pie filling mixture to the pie crust and place into the oven. Bake 45 minutes or until done. Center of the pie should be set when done. Allow to cool before serving. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
