When I was little, My Grandma had a friend who had Pecan Trees. One summer,they gave us Pecans by the sack load! We shelled Pecans the whole summer! That part was awful, but that was the year my Grandma introduced me to Pecan Pie. Oh boy! I make it fairly often. We love it!

Ingredients For southern pecan pie

  • 1 c
    light or dark corn syrup
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    roughly chopped pecans
  • 1
    (9-inch) unbaked, deep-dish, pie crust

How To Make southern pecan pie

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2
    Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla using a fork. Stir in pecans. Pour filling into pie crust.

    Bake on center rack of oven for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool for 2 hours on wire rack before serving.
