This is another wonderful dough for pies of any kind. freezes well for up to a month or so.

Ingredients For sour cream pie crust dough

  • 1/4 c
    + 2 tbsp. sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    ice water
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 21/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 c
    cake flour
  • 1/2 c
    butter, unsalted, cold
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable shortening, chilled

How To Make sour cream pie crust dough

  • 1
    Combine sour cream,water, sugar and salt in small bowl.Cut in butter and shortening with fingers or pastry blender (you know I use my fingers :). mix to course meal.,

    Add sour cream mixture and stir just until dough forms. turn out unto lightly floured work surface,Divide dough in half. Form each half into ball; flatten to disk. wrap in plastic and refrigerate 1 hour. or can freeze ahead for a month

    make into whatever you like.
