Ingredients For skillet apple pie

  • 4LBS
    granny smith apples
  • 1tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 3/4c
    sugar
  • 1/2 cup
    butter
  • 1 cup
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 (14.1oz)
    refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1
    egg white
  • 2 tblsp
    granulated sugar
  • vanilla or butter pecan ice cream

How To Make skillet apple pie

    Pre heat oven to 350 Peel apples Cut into 1/2 in wedges
  • 2
    Toss apples with cinnamon and 3/4 granulated sugar Melt butter in a 10 in cast iron skillet over med. heat

    Add brown sugar, and cook stirring constantly 1~2 min or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, place 1 pie crust in skillet over br sugar, spoon apple mix ture over pie crust, top with remaining pie crust. Whisk egg white until foamy and brush top of pie crust with egg white; sprinkle with 2 tblsp , cut 4 or 5 slots in top for steam to escape. Bake 350 fir 1 hr~1hr and 10 min or until golden and bubbly. Cool on rack for 30 min before serving. Serve w/ ice cream.
