This came from South Africa and the Dutch have this as one of their favorite deserts.

Ingredients For quick custart pie

  • can
    1 can of sweetened condensed milk (i use low fat eagle brand)
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 table spoons flour
  • 3 table spoons corn starch
  • 3 cans of water ( i put hot water in)

How To Make quick custart pie

    Put the Condensed milk, 3 cups of warm water, a Table spoon butter in a cooking pot on the stove on low to medium heat. Stir till the condensed milk is incorporated. Put stove on low.......

    Divide the three egg whites from the yellows...... Put the 3 yellows in a bowl, add 3 Table spoons cornstarch, 3 tablespoons of flour, and a 1/2 cup of water together... Mix till there are no lumps left.. If you think there are you can always put it through a sift. When if is smooth... add to the ingredients on the stove, and stir till it thickens. Let it simmer about 3 min on LOW....

    While the ingredients are simmering, quickly beat the egg whites to a soft peak. Take the mixture off of the stove and FOLD in the eggwhite.. DO NOT PUT BACK ON STOVE. THE HEAT OF THE MIXTURE WILL COOK THE EGG WHITES. Pour in two 8 inch Graham cracker crusts, or a 10 inch pan. Pour the mixture in the crusts, and shake cinnamon lightly over the top and let cool in fridge. Enjoy....... Low Calorie... Dessert. Pedro........
