    fresh pumpkin
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • kosher salt to taste

How To Make pumpkin pie filling from scratch

    Cut the tops off of the pumpkin as you would a jackolantern.

    Quarter the pumpkins lengthwise and scoop out seeds.

    Sprinkle brown sugar and spices, along with a small bit of the salt on each quarter's shell.

    Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until flesh is tender.

    Let stand to cool.

    Cut away outer skin.
