1fresh pumpkin

1/4 cbutter

1/2 cbrown sugar

1/2 tspnutmeg

1/2 tspground cinnamon

kosher salt to taste
How To Make pumpkin pie filling from scratch

1Cut the tops off of the pumpkin as you would a jackolantern.

2Quarter the pumpkins lengthwise and scoop out seeds.

3Sprinkle brown sugar and spices, along with a small bit of the salt on each quarter's shell.

4Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until flesh is tender.

5Let stand to cool.

6Cut away outer skin.

7Puree to desired consistency.
