My daughter always requested I make this for her birthday instead of cake. I've shared this recipe with family and friends who say it is the best they've had.

Ingredients For pecan pie

1 scant csugar

1 cdark karo syrup

1 dashsalt

1 tspvanilla extract

2 Tbspbutter or margarine, melted (not made with corn oil)

9"unbaked pie shell

1 scant cpecan pieces
How To Make pecan pie

1Pour the pecan pieces in the bottom of the unbaked pie shell.

2Whisk together the eggs and sugar in a 2 qt. or larger mixing bowl. Whisk in the remaining ingredients and mix well.

3Pour the mixture over the pecans (don't worry, they will rise to the top)and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for approximately 50 min. or until the center is beginning to puff and has only a slight wiggle to it.

4Cool completely before cutting.
