An old family friend used to make this pie in the 1970's. This recipe is a keeper! It is refreshing and perfect for use with peaches that you may have picked yourself.

Ingredients For peachy cream pie

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 stick
    butter, unsalted
  • 2 c
    peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1
    pie crust shell, baked

How To Make peachy cream pie

  • 1
    Mix sugar with flour and salt and set aside.
  • 2
    Heat milk on low heat in a saucepan.
  • 3
    Add butter to melt.
  • 4
    Stir in flour mixture.
  • 5
    Allow sauce to boil, while stirring, for 3-5 minutes. Sauce will thicken to pudding.

    Take pudding off heat and add vanilla.

    While pudding is cooling, put sliced fresh peaches inside a baked and cooled pie crust.

    Pour pudding over peaches and chill for several hours.

    Serve with a layer of fresh made whipped cream on top (not cool whip) and more fresh peaches if you have some.
