1/4 cgranulated sugar

1/2 cmilk

1 tspcornstarch

1/4 tspsalt

1 Tbspbourbon

1 tspground cinnamon

1/2 tspground cloves

1/2 tspground nutmeg

19-inch deep dish pie crust
- PECAN PRALINE TOPPING

4 Tbspbutter
-
1/4 cbrown sugar
-
1/4 cgranulated sugar

1/8 tspsalt
-
2/3 cchopped pecans

2 Tbspheavy whipping cream
How To Make not your grandma's sweet potato pie

1To make the pie, heat the oven to 400 degrees F. In mixing bowl, combine the butter and cream cheese. Add the sweet potatoes, eggs, both sugars, milk, cornstarch, salt, bourbon, and all of the spices. Mix on low speed until well combined.

2Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Bake for 5 minutes. Lower the heat to 350 degrees F and bake another 45 to 50 minutes, or until center is firm. Take out of oven and set aside to cool.

3To make the topping, combine butter, both sugars, salt, and pecans in a medium saucepan over a medium heat. Heat until mixture begins to bubble, stirring occasionally.

4Remove from heat and add the heavy whipping cream, stirring until combined. Let cool for 2 or 3 minutes. Pour mixture over cooled pie. With a spatula or knife, spread mixture over top of pie. Cool until topping has hardened (about 30 to 45 minutes).
