One time I said that the only pie crust I ever had success with came ready made from the store. Hearing this my niece gave me this recipe and I must admit that it did not fail me.

Ingredients For never fail pie crust

  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 1/4 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg, well beaten
  • 5 Tbsp
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    white vinegar

How To Make never fail pie crust

    Cut shortening into flour and salt. Combine egg, water and vinegar. Pour liquid into flour mixture all at once. Blend with spoon just until flour is all moistened.

    This is an easy crust to work with and can be re-rolled without toughening. It can be kept in refrigerator without spoiling up to 2 weeks.
