This was my grandmother's recipe, and was my mom's absolute favorite pie! A very light pie, not as dense as most pumpkin pies. Enjoy!

Ingredients For nannie's pumpkin pie

  • 1 c
    pumpkin, canned (not the pie mix)
  • 1/2 c
    evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 lg
    egg, well beaten
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    pumpkin pie spice
  • 1
    pie crust shell

How To Make nannie's pumpkin pie

  • Prepared pie crust

    Prepare your pie crust, place in pie plate, and set aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Pour pie filling

    Mix the pie filling ingredients together, and pour into the pie crust shell. Place in preheated oven.

    Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Turn the oven down to 300 degrees, and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes.
  • Pie is cooling.

    Remove from oven, cool and serve!
