nana's chocolate pie

I've been making this pie for a few years now. Don't remember where I got the original recipe, but after a little tweaking here & there, it's a good pie. We don't care for Meringue, so I never make it, but my friend Amy Jones does, so the pic with meringue is her pie using this recipe. Ok, I finally remembered where I got the recipe from, lol. 4 Tbspcocoa

2 chalf and half

2 csugar

4egg yolks (reserve whites for meringue)

2 tspvanilla

2 Tbspcornstarch

19 in deep dish pie shell
- MERINGUE
-
reserved egg whites

3 Tbspsugar
How To Make nana's chocolate pie

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake Pie Crust until golden brown.

2Mix cocoa, half and half, sugar, egg yolks, and Vanilla. Bring to a boil.

3Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the boiling cocoa mixture. Cook until thickened. Por into pie shell.

4FOR MERINGUE TOPPING Beat egg whites and the 3 tablespoons sugar until a stiff peak forms. Place on top of pie & bake until lightly browned.
