My mother has been making this for me every Christmas for as long as I can remember. When we got married, she handed the recipe down to my wife and she makes me two for every birthday as well as Christmas. Hands down my favorite dessert in the world! It is great while still warm from the oven and even better cold from the refrigerator.

  • 1/2 c
    butter, melted
  • 6 lg
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make nana's buttermilk pie

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Combine melted butter and eggs.

    Add flour, salt and sugar and mix well.

    Add buttermilk and vanilla.

    Pour mixture into two regular or deep dish pie crusts.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes until firm and golden on top.
