My mother-in-law made this pie for every holiday and we all loved it. She had seven children and each child brought along a spouse for dinner, so she had to make quite a few pies to satisfy all of us. I have made this pie over the years and even those that do not care for pumpkin pie love this since it is spicy and not too "pumpkiny".

Ingredients For mom's special pumpkin pie

3/4 cbrown sugar

1 Tbspflour

1/2 tspsalt

1 tspcinnamon

1/2 tspnutmeg

1/2 tspginger

1/4 tspcloves

1 1/2 cpureed pumpkin (not pumpkin filling), 15 oz. can

1 1/2 cevaporated milk, 12 oz. can

1lightly beaten egg

2 Tbspdark molasses

1deep dish 9" unbaked pie crust
How To Make mom's special pumpkin pie

1Preheat oven to 450. Mix pumpkin, molasses, evaporated milk, and brown sugar.

2Add beaten egg.

3Slowly add flour.

4Add spices.

5Pour mixture into pie crust.

6Bake 15 minutes at 450 and 40 minutes at 325.
