My mother recently handed down her pumpkin pie recipe. When planning Thanksgiving gatherings, the family wants to be sure that "Aunt Dort" is bringing her pumpkin pie!

Ingredients For aunt dort's pumpkin pie

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 4 tsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1 can
    (15 oz) pumpkin
  • 1 c
    half and half
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell

How To Make aunt dort's pumpkin pie

    In a small bowl combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and cinnamon.

    In a large bowl, beat eggs. Stir in the pumpkin and sugar mixture. Gradually add half and half with a whisk. Pour into pie shell.

    Bake in preheated 400 degrees oven for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temp. to 350 degrees and bake 45-50 minutes longer or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool. Refrigerate left overs.
