Mom was a fantastic cook, and this is one of her recipes. I personally don't like cherry, so tend to substitute strawberry pie filling. I imagine you could put any flavor pie filling you would like into this wonderful recipe!

  • 1 c
    graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 lb
    cream cheese
  • 6
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1 pt
    sour cream
  • 5 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1
    large can cherry pie filling
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/8 tsp
    almond extract

How To Make madeleine's cherry cream cheese pie

    In a 9x13 pan combine 1st 3 ingredients and pat into the bottom. Bake at 300 degrees 10 minutes. Cream cheese, add 1 egg at a time and beat after each addition. Add 1 cup sugar gradually and the next two ingredients. Beat until well mixed and pour slowly over graham crackers. Bake 35-40 minutes, remove from oven. Cream together sour cream and next two ingredients and pour over the top, cook 5 minutes then cool and chill. Blend all remaining ingredients and pour over sour cream mixture. Refrigerate.
