Ingredients For grandma's coconut custard pie

  • 4 md
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/3 stick
    butter
  • 1 1/4 c
    coconut
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • TOASTED COCONUT
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • remainder of coconut from bag

How To Make grandma's coconut custard pie

  • 1
    Mix sugar and cornstarch together.
  • 2
    Mix eggs into sugar mixture.
  • 3
    Melt butter and mix with the remainder of the ingredients into the sugar and eggs.

    Pour into pie crusts. This makes two pies. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the middle is slightly jiggly.

    To toast the coconut melt butter into a skillet. Add the remainder of the coconut from the bag. Stir and watch it until it is toasted to your satisfaction.
