This recipe is older than me! It makes a great lemony pie without a lot of fuss.

Ingredients For lemon chess pie

  • unbaked 9" pie shell
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2t Tbsp
    corn meal
  • 4
    whole eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c
    melted butter
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 3 Tbsp
    grated lemon rind
  • 1/4 c
    lemon juice

How To Make lemon chess pie

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 425
  • 2
    Combine sugar, flour and corn meal.
  • 3
    Add eggs and blend well with mixer.
  • 4
    Add rest of ingredients and mix well.
  • 5
    Pour into pie shell.
  • 6
    Bake at 425 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 and bake 30 minutes or until set. If it starts to brown too much place foil loosely over the top without touching filling.
