Very simple,southern favorite. I like lemons,so I adapted it with extra lemon juice cause it perks up your mouth. :)

Ingredients For lemon chess pie

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon zest, grated
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted and cooled
  • 1
    unbaked pie crust

How To Make lemon chess pie

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl,combine the sugar,cornstarch and lemon zest.Whick in the eggs,1 at a time.Stir in the lemon juice and butter and blend thoroughly
  • 2
    Pour the egg mixture into the pie shell and bake until the top is lightly browned and the center sets,20-25 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature. Slice and serve.
