This is THE most delectable sugar cream pie I've ever tasted and it is so easy to make. The recipe came from the Indianapolis Star, July, 1992. Make sure your hands are clean for this one, because you'll be using your finger for a spoon!

Ingredients For indiana sugar pie

  • 1
    9-in. pie crust
  • 4 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    cold butter (do not use margarine!)
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch
    grated nutmeg

How To Make indiana sugar pie

    Blend flour, butter, sugar, and salt in a food processor until smooth. Pour into unbaked pie shell.

    Add cream and mix gently with finger (you heard me!), being very careful not to tear the pie crust.

    In a measuring cup, combine milk and vanilla. Pour over cream and DO NOT STIR! Sprinkle generously with nutmeg.

    Bake on center rack in a 300-degree oven for 1-1/2 hours, until wiggly.

    NOTE: Try to restrain yourself from eating the whole pie in one sitting.
