Ingredients For hott to trot apple pie

  • 6 md
    apples peeled, cored &sliced
  • 1 pkg
    of red hot's 4 oz
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 3/4 c
    white sugar
  • 1
    pastry crust
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make hott to trot apple pie

    place pie pastry crust ( homemade or store bought ) in pie pan set aside
  • 2
    cook red hots water and sugar on med heat till all candy is melted , add apples let cook 10 mins or until all apples are red
  • 3
    remove, apples place in pie pan leave syrup in pan take 1 cup of syrup add vanilla , flour stir on and pour over apples
  • 4
    top pie if desired with lattice or solid leave holes for steam and cook at 350 for 35 to 40 mins till all pastry is done
